8 episodes and not one wasted. Jon Favreau took a bounty hunter who never takes his helmet off and made him one of the best characters Star Wars has ever had. Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin does more with a voice and a walk than most actors do with their whole face.
Then there’s The Child. The internet lost its mind for a reason, Doja family. One look at that little green dude and you’re ready to go to war for him just like Mando.
It plays like an old Western in space, one job at a time, and the directors (Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow, Bryce Dallas Howard, Taika Waititi) each kept it feeling fresh. Ludwig Göransson’s score is crazy, you hear that theme once and it’s stuck in your head for a week. And The Volume had every planet looking real.
The cast around him was stacked too. Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Werner Herzog, and Giancarlo Esposito walking in as Moff Gideon with the Darksaber at the end had me standing up.
All in all this is what Star Wars is supposed to feel like 🔥✌🏾
